Somalia volleyball championship set to begin
The 26th Somali Volleyball Championship is set to begin in Nov. 23, according to the Somali Volleyball Federation, which revealed the schedules of the tournament during an executive committee meeting Thursday.

According to the federation, Somali's military volleyball club, Horseed, will take on Dekedda in the opening match of the competition on November 23.

Also at the meeting, the federation provided its clubs with various volleyball equipment, which was donated by Nation Link Telecom Somalia, a network company and major supporter of Somali sports. The equipment included volleyballs, nets, shoes, jerseys and tracksuits.

„On the behalf of Somali Volleyball Federation, I would like to thank Nation Link Telecom Somalia, a friendly company which is now seen as the biggest provider of Somali Sport,“ said Mohamed Abubakar Hirei, the federation's secretary general. „History will always mention the generous role that Nation Link Telecom is playing in the country’s sport.“

Somali Volleyball Federation is organizing its first major league since its recent return into the world platform, when the federation’s president, Engineer Abdulkader Omar Abukar, appeared in the Zone 5 meeting for the first time in more than 22 years.
