Italy’s coach Marco Bonitta is happy to have won bronze from the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship after the 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 28-26) victory against France, but is also sad, because he and his team will now go their separate ways. Here are the post-match statements of the coaches and the captains of the two teams.
Stephane Faure, coach of France: “We had our moments in this match, but we could not use our chance to win.”
Trevor Clevenot, captain of France: “Congratulations to Italy! They played with their full performance in this match. They were good at tactics and they played with good technique.”
Marco Bonitta, coach of Italy: “I am very happy with the result. But I am also sad, because I am going to separate from this team as they will not be juniors anymore. I want to thank all my players because they got incredible results and made me really happy.”
Edoardo Picco, captain of Italy: “I am happy with this result. We demonstrated again that our team never give up. I am very proud to be the captain of this team. We deserve this bronze medal and are very happy right now.”
